Privacy policy

This Sly Application (the “Sly App“) is published by or on behalf of Keystream Information Systems. We are especially sensitive to the importance of the personal information that our users entrust us with. To maintain our users' trust and loyalty, we are committed to respecting the privacy of our users and protecting their personal information. If you have any concerns, questions or comments about this Privacy Policy you can contact us using the contact details in the Contact Us paragraph of this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Sly App. Although the Sly App may provide you with links to other applications or websites, including those of our business partners and/or service providers, those are not covered by this Privacy Policy.

The types of personal information we collect and how we collect it

Information you provide upon registration:

In order to make use of the Sly App you will need to register an account and will generally provide your name, email address (which only be used to reset an account in case of password loss), phone number, user name, password and other registration information; transaction-related information, such as when you make purchases, credit card information for purchase and use of the Sly App. We may also use the information you provided us to contact your from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices and marketing promotions.

Contacts

We use phone numbers as unique identifiers. We ask your permission before syncing your contacts. We use your contacts in order to notify you as soon as one of your contacts signs up for Sly App. We only need the number, email and name (first and last) for this to work and store no data about your contacts after performing the lookup.

Automatically Collected Information

In addition, the Sly App may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices unique device ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, information about the way you use the Sly App and, if you arrived at our site via a link from a third party site, the URL of the linking page.

How we use the information that we collect

We own the information we collect through the Sly App. We will use it, as applicable, to:

  • contact you regarding your registered account with us;
  • monitor or improve the performance of, and products and services available through the Sly App;
  • customise the advertising and content that you see;
  • send you promotional materials or special offers on our behalf or on behalf of marketing partners. If you do not want to receive this marketing information you can notify us of this as part of the registration process. You can stop receiving this information at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions on the correspondence you receive;
  • for any purpose if we are required to do so by any law or other regulatory or government authority.
The content of your secret chat is never shared

Please note that Sly Chat uses end-to-end encryption. This means that all data is encrypted with a key that only you and the recipient know. There is no way for us or anybody else without direct access to your device to learn what content is being sent in those messages. We do not store your secret data on our servers. We also do not keep any logs for messages in secret data, so after a short period of time we no longer know who or when you messaged via secret data.

We may share your personal information with third parties: we may use trusted third parties providers to perform certain functions on our behalf including website analysis, data analysis, translation services and processing credit card payments. They will have access to your personal information (but not to your secret encrypted data) if necessary to perform their function but they cannot use it or disclose it for any other purpose, unless you have specifically given them consent to do so.

Aggregate Information: we may share aggregate, non-personally identifiable information, such as demographics and application usage statistics, with advertisers, sponsors and other organisations to help us improve the Sly App and our services.

Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

We will retain your personal information for as long as you use the Sly App and for a reasonable time thereafter. We will retain Automatically Collected information for up to 24 months and thereafter may store it in aggregate.

Deleting data

Accounts

If you would like to delete your account, you can do this on the deactivation page. Deleting your account permanently removes all your messages, groups and contacts. This action must be confirmed via your account and cannot be undone.

Messages

Everything you delete is deleted permanently. When you delete a message, you delete it from your message history. This means that a copy still stays on the server as part of your partner‘s message history. As soon as your partner deletes it too, it’s gone forever.

Self-destructing messages

Your secret messages can be ordered to self-destruct.

Account self-destruction

If you stop using the Sly App and do not login for at least 6 months, your account will be deleted along with all messages, media, contacts and every other piece of data you store.

Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. Please be aware that, although we endeavor provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches. We shall not be liable for any attempt to hack or crack or otherwise gain access to any part of the Sly App including any of your information.

A note for parents concerning privacy

We do not use the Sly App to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at  admin@slychat.io. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.

Policy changes

By using the Sly App you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and our terms of use. We may amend this Privacy Policy and the terms of use from time to time. If we do so, we will post an updated version. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

You are entitled to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies in your information corrected. If you’d like us to delete your personal information that you have provided via the Sly App, please contact us and we will respond in a reasonable time. Please note that some or all of your personal information may be required in order for the Sly App to function properly.
